PESHAWAR
The Secretariat Coordination Council, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had given a strike call to protest against the proposed reservation of 3 percent quota out of the 20 percent quota reserved for the Tehsildar cadre.
In this backdrop, the provincial Establishment and Administration dearth partment held talks with the representatives of the Association a number of times, wherein the whole position was explained to them as per rules and policy.
The council, in a statement said, that concerned department have been apprised about issue pertaining to quota.
“The quota is being carved out of the 20 percent reserved for Tehsildars hence their rights were not being affected,” the statement read.
They were assured that Establishment Department being custodian of the lawful rights of Civil Servants is cognizant of their rights and concerns.
However, some elements in the Associations were bent upon disturbing the peace and order and not listening to repeated requests for calling off their strike.
In order to maintain peaceful environment in the Secretariat and ensure smooth working in the offices and service delivery, the provincial police recently held a few people in custody for creating law and order situation.
The provincial government remained committed to the welfare of the employees and welcomed any suggestion and dialogue for amicable resolution of all issues.
