PESHAWAR: The Excise Intelligence Bureau carried out a major operation on a tip-off and, after strong resistance, managed to seize vehicle number AYU 514 Islamabad. Upon searching the vehicle, 501 kilograms of hashish and 4 kilograms of high-quality ice (methamphetamine) were recovered. According to a statement issued here, the operation was conducted in District Khyber based on secret information. During the operation, the drug smugglers put up fierce resistance; however, through strategy, the vehicle was brought under control and a large quantity of narcotics was seized. Excise officials said that the recovered narcotics have been taken into custody, and a case has been registered at the Excise Police Station, District Khyber, for further investigation and legal proceedings.
