Rawalpindi : Pakistan has huge business potential, particularly in furniture sector and offers attractive business and investment opportunities to local and international investors.
These views were expressed by traders, representatives from business community at the 32nd home fixtures and furniture exhibition organized by Dr Nazish RF events.
Former president ICCI Sardar Yasir Ilyas was the chief guest on the occasion.
More than 60 exhibitors, manufacturers displayed their products and services from across the country at the exhibition.
There was a wide range of products put on display including furniture, paintings, sofas, bed accessories, carpets, rugs, and and many more.
Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan after formally opening the event said it was a good initiative to promote business activity particularly in furniture sector.
The manufacturers and distributors deserve our appreciation that they are contributing to business activity despite difficult circumstances, he said.
The main objective of the exhibition was to promote trade and commerce and enhance sales of the, accessories, carpets rugs, paintings and furniture sector across Pakistan.
There should be a proper policy and the government should facilitate exports, he said. Pakistani products he said were more economical but we are unable to benefit from this due to lack of support, lack of displays and exhibitions as well as trade fares on a global scale.
The government, he said, should showcase its talent and offer its services and products to the rest of the world.
This sector alone can contribute to billions of dollars in terms of exports and revenue and can also play an important role in the creation of jobs for hundreds of thousands of people if given support from the government. Also the reduction of duties for the addition of technology transfer would be very helpful.
