Dealing with natural disasters:
PESHAWAR
Amun Taraqqi Party (ATP) chairman Muhammad Faiq Shah has suggested to establish field relief camps under supervision of impartial institutions for flood affected people across the country so that nation would give aid and donations with full trust and firmness.
Faiq was talking to the party’s provincial office bearers regarding flash floods and relief activities in the country here at ATP central office on Monday.
He noted people have been miserably hit by earlier inflation and now flash floods while governments engage in a race of gaining power.
Shah criticised that the governments and administration have completely failed to deal with disaster situations and left people in lurch and helpless.
More than 40million people have so far been displaced, whereas crops, livestock, properties and infrastructure were washed away in the worst kind of floods in history of the country, Shah noted.
On the other hand, the ATP chairman said the life of every common man has been made miserable owing to spiraling ‘price-hike’.
He continued to say that people who have been surviving from recent torrential rains and floods have been erasing in the sky-rocketing inflation.
Shah suggested establishing field relief camps for flood victims under supervision of an impartial institution in order people locally and abroad send aid and donations with a complete trust and resolve.
He stressed that rehabilitation of millions of people should be prioritized by taking joint efforts.
Faiq remarked the country would only pull out of the current flooding situation through initiating synergic steps and attempts.
Businesses and farming communities are the worst affected by the torrential rains and devastating floods throughout the country, he observed. He termed it as a national catastrophe.
Shah opined the destruction of crops and livestock would bring the worst effects on every person.
The ATP chairman stressed that it is essential to make alternative planning in order to prevent a rising shortage, food crisis and further increase in ‘price-hike’.
Faiq said ATP is actively carrying out relief activities under collective efforts in all four provinces.
He vowed his party will stand with its brothers and serve until complete restoration.
