Faiq calls for an end to political ‘polarization’ to overcome the crisis

PESHAWAR : Amun Taraqqi Party (ATP) chairman Muhammad Faiq Shah called to end political ‘polarization’, and ‘victimization’ and build up consensus on issues of national importance to overcome the current crisis.

He said political instability is worsening the economic crisis as Pakistan tends toward another IMF bailout package.

Shah while talking to different delegations at his office on Monday observed Pakistan continues to reel from economic fragility.

He said political instability has its deep tolls on the economy.

The current volatility widely affects economic potential is also a fact, he added.

He said Pakistan will go down the same route as Sri Lanka.

He added that the country’s economic fallouts are becoming visible owing the persistent political crisis.

Faiq said the poor masses have become victims of bad-governance, mismanagement, maladministration and ‘flawed policies’.

He said inflation has sharply risen, while consistent increases in prices of power, gas tariffs and petroleum products further adding to miseries of the ‘poverty-stricken’ people.

The party chief called for reforms and building of consensus on national issues to pull out the country from the prevailing crisis.

He urged the politicians and rulers to work jointly for the country’s economic prosperity, peace, and stability.

Shah termed the rising poverty, hunger, starvation and inflation are major challenges of the country, which should be tackled under a comprehensive strategy.

He stressed the need for utilizing the untapped natural resources to make the country economically self-reliant.

Similarly, he said the youths are a prime source for the country so they should be lifted up at an optimal level to play their role for economic prosperity and development.

He asserted that electing new leadership, competent people and taking youth capabilities are indispensable for tackling the present crisis.

Faiq stressed that reforms are imperative before holding upcoming general elections in the country.

Otherwise, he warned the country and its people will face with same fate in shape of dynastic politics which was continued for last several decades

Meanwhile, the ATP chairman expressed deep sorrow and condolence over the death of former president Gen (retd) Pervaz Musharraf.

He expressed sympathies with the bereaved families.

He also prayed for the high ranks of the departed soul and for the bereaved family to bear the loss with fortitude.
