Chairman, Amun Taraqqi Party Muhammad Faiq Shah reacting to Supreme Court verdict regarding reserved seats stating that his party welcomed the decision of the apex court.
We fully support adherence to law and justice.
He, however, said alleged rigging, use of wealth, favoritism, nepotism and pressure in 2018 and 2024 general elections must be exposed.
He said those who snatched authorities from people should be punished.
In a statement here on Sunday, Mr Shah said that those who came to the upper and lower house of the parliament, and assemblies by using pressure, wealth and bribe: how can they resolve issues of people and Pakistan?
The ATP chief viewed there is a chance with the supreme court to play its role for supremacy of law and justice.
He emphasized that complete reforms should be introduced in the Election Commission of Pakistan and remove intervention of wealth and rigging in the electoral process.
Faiq asserted lotocracy (change of loyalty) and luxuries on public taxes money must be halted.
He demanded to provide a level playing field and equal opportunities to all parties to participate in canvassing campaigns in elections.
Furthermore, he asked to make the election process easier for participation of ordinary citizens and the general public.
The party leader said the worst rigging and mismanagement reported in the general election 2018 and 2024.
He added that the downfall of moral, legal and economic democracy witnessed in stability, economy and society.
Shah made it clear that stability won’t come until electoral reforms and bad root are not eliminated.
He said steps like disrespecting public mandate has become the cause of political disharmony and disorder.
He went on to say there is no equality in law and justice.
We need to learn from elections in neighbouring India that: how become a source of political stability and economic progress?
He added politicians and bureaucracy didn’t learn the lesson from the past.
