Faiq lashes out at the government over ‘flawed’ economic policies

Amun Taraqqi Party (ATP) chairman Muhammad Faiq Shah has lashed out at the government over ‘flawed’ economic policies, terming that the historic hike in prices of petroleum products was an attempt to appease foreign financial lenders.
Shah while chairing a meeting of the party’s executive council here on Monday criticized that the incumbent government and its economic team is completely incapable of fixing the country’s economy.
He added the increase in Rs35 per litre in petrol and diesel was a highly unwise step of the government under the prevailing circumstances.
Faiq warned that a new wave of inflation will come to the country and poverty-stricken people will be directly affected.
He furthermore viewed the poor people are compelling on suicide owing to rising price-hike.
The party chief said the government has snatched the morsel from mouth and right to life from people.
No one is available to listen plea the poor masses which are crushing down in spiraling price-hike, he added.
He asked the rulers to stop appeasing the mentors and foreign financial lenders i.e IMF.
Shah emphasized the need of bringing the national economy on track through a joint roadmap and utilization of indigenous as well as rich natural and mineral resources.
According to the reports, Shah said the government is going to present a ‘mini-budget’ worth Rs200billion with heavy taxes.
He expressed fear that ‘inflation’ will take its complete roots and will affect every segment after slapping more additional taxes through the proposed ‘mini-budget’.
The ATP called for imposition of economic emergency urgently.
He asked the government to immediately consult with eminent economists and relevant stakeholders to safe the sinking national economy.
Shah expressed high grief and sorrow over the death of 42 passengers after plunging a bus, heading to Karachi from Lasela, Quetta.
Similarly, he also saddened over the death of 17 children during capsizing a boat in Tanda Dam in Kohat district and prayed for the departed souls and speedily recovery of the injured people and children of the incidents.
