PESHAWAR, January18: Chairman, Amun Taraqqi Party (ATP) Muhammad Faiq Shah has stated that not a single political party was taken interest for bringing reforms in Election Commission of Pakistan and legislation to ensure conduct to Senate elections in transparent and fair manner.
Despite the fact that, Faiq Shah while talking to different delegations here on Monday said that the political parties have raised concerns about rigging, which was incomprehensible, unwise and illogical. He regretted that the parties having two third majority in the parliament didn’t make efforts for legislation.
The ATP chairman said that elections have been made a game of wealth and business, adding that the foreign funding is nurtured to extremism, a pressure group and rigging. He called upon the ECP to conduct a thorough check of assets of all the political parties and bound them to fully implement their manifesto.
Faiq Shah emphasized that the wealth intervention should be eliminated in the electoral process in order to elect a real public representative to the parliament. He said the holding of protest outside the building of the Election Commission of Pakistan couldn’t make a difference.
The party leader said the protesting political parties, which remained in power, asked why they had ignored making a concrete legislation in the past. He said the government and opposition should abstain from doing unnecessary politics and spreading hatred.
Politicians are not united regarding reforms in the Election Commission, so why they have raising concerns about rigging, says Faiq Shah, asking all political parties to declare their assets and details of foreign funding immediately. He added the politics should not be made a personal business. He urged the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to expose all those who were deviating from their manifesto, using pressure tactics and disclosure of their wealth.
Faiq Shah said his party will expose the reality of all these politicians before the general masses, because they are deceiving them for the last 73 years. He added no one talked about the increasing price-hike and injustice in the country, as everyone has assaulted the national institutions for only their own survival and protection of skin, which is highly condemnable, he said.
