Faiq voices concern over persistent deadlock over setting up caretaker setup in Punjab

Amun Taraqqi Party (ATP) chairman Muhammad Faiq Shah has voiced the persistent stalemate over setting up a caretaker government in Punjab and warning that political chaos would be further intensified if the government and opposition couldn’t develop consensus.
Shah while chairing a meeting here at the party’s main office on Saturday noted echoes have currently been raised in political and opposition camps and insiders/outsiders “Who will be Chief Minister of Punjab?
Whereas, he added the government and opposition are locked horns as both sides have shown stubborn attitude to finalize the nominee of caretaker chief ministers and set up in Punjab like consensus developed by govt and opposition in formation of caretaker government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa .
In the middle of the prevailing scenario, the ATP chief observed that public relief and welfare initiatives have been put into the backburner for the sake of political interests, saying that businessmen, industrialists, traders and common man have become highly perturbed owing to prevailing political uncertainty and economic instability.
Government and opposition should build up consensus on nominees and caretaker set ups in Punjab and KP to end the current political impasses, Faiq stressed. He made it clear that further political chaos is unaffordable for Pakistan.
Commenting on the reasons surfaced in the section of media behind delay in grant of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Pakistan, revealing that KSA have attached pre-conditions for release of grant and investment with economic reforms, blaming the present coalition government for growing trust-deficit among friendly countries. Talking about the meeting of the Russian delegation with the Prime Minister to convey the message of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Shah hailed the intentions of the Russian federation for enhancing cooperation of oil and gas sectors and provision of petroleum commodities and gas on a long-term basis.
Similarly, he welcomed the President’s Putin stance in which he declared Pakistan as an important partner in the South Asian and Muslim world.
He also lauded the U.S for taking a similar stance for Pakistan in which it called Pakistan as an important partner.
Shah condemned the terrorists’ attack on a police check post in Jamrud, Khyber district of K-P, in which martyred two police personnels, saying that the growing lawlessness is a matter of grave concern.
He warned the insurgents and miscreants element would take advantage over the deteriorating law and order situation and urged the institutions to take prompt initiatives to foil evil designs of the enemies and anti-state elements.
Commenting on development after announcement of results of Karachi’s LGs polls, Faiq condemned the present standoff between PPP and JI over selection for the slot of Karachi Mayor while PTI had already rejected the results of Karachi’s LGs elections.
He urged the PPP, JI and PTI to build up consensus and to remove the current deadlock and make joint initiatives to resolve Karachiites issues on emergent grounds.
