PM Nawaz, Federal Ministers, Speaker, Deputy Speaker, CM Punjab and Governor KP felicitate newly elected PM
MUZAFFARABAD, (INP): Raja Farooq Haider Khan of Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) took oath as Prime Minster of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) here on Sunday.
AJK President Sardar Muhammad Yaqoob Khan administered the oath to newly elected Prime Minster at graceful ceremony in AJK Legislative Assembly.
Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Mehtab Abbasi, Senator Saleem Zia, MNA Malik Shakeel, Speaker Shah Ghulam Qadir, Former Prime Minister Chaudhry Abdul Majeed, Siddique ul Farooq, Marvi Memon, Hanif Abbasi, Federal Ministers Barjees Tahir, Ahsan Iqbal, members of AJK Legislative Assembly, Kashmir Council and party leaders, High ranking officials and large number of people attended the ceremony.
Earlier, Raja Farooq Haider Khan of Pakistan Muslim League-N was elected as new Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir. Voting for election of new Leader of the House was held in Muzaffarabad on Sunday.
Raja Farooq Haider Khan secured 38 votes while a joint candidate of Muslim Conference and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Ghulam Mohi ud din Dewan and Chaudhry Muhammad Yaseen of Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) bagged five votes each.
Speaker after being elected as Leader of the House, he assured that he will utilize all his capabilities to come to the expectations of the people of the state.
The Leader of the House reiterated that PML-N government in the state with zero tolerance to corruption and restoration of merit.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has congratulated Raja Farooq Haider on being elected as Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir.
In his facilitation message he expressed the confidence that new Prime Minister will work for the development and prosperity of the people of Azad Kashmir. He hoped that the new PM will support the people of Indian Occupied Kashmir in their just and legitimate struggle for their right of self-determination.
The Prime Minister assured the newly elected Prime Minister of AJK for carrying out the development and reforms agenda of the Federal Government in Azad Kashmir which aims at revolution arising the lives of people socially, economically and politically.
Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq and Deputy Speaker Murtaza Javed Abbasi have congratulated Raja Farooq Haider Khan on his election as Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
In their separate felicitation messages, they said the election of Raja Farooq Haider Khan is a manifestation of confidence of the leadership and the members of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly reposed in him.
They expressed the hope that under the sagacious leadership of Farooq Haider the AJK Assembly will play more vital role in strengthening the democratic norms and institutions in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has also felicitated Raja Farooq Haider on being elected as the new Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir. In his message, he hoped that the newly elected Prime Minister of AJK will fulfill the expectations of his people.
Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid have felicitated Raja Farooq Haider on being elected as Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir. They hoped that newly elected Prime Minister will work for the development and prosperity of the people of Azad Kashmir.
