Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) Vice President Sherry Rehman said Saturday federal ministers were interpreting constitution in ‘their own way’, adding that PM Imran would not be able to hold PM’s office after voting on no-confidence motion against him takes place Sunday.
In her statement, Senator Sherry Rehman alleged a federal minister of provoking military establishment to intervene, and said that it was an indication of government’s utter disappointment.
“On which basis opposition leaders can be alleged of [committing] high treason?” the PPP Senator asked, adding that “Why the [foreign] letter that government is quoting as conspiracy was kept secret for 17 days?”
Sherry Rehman asked whether why the US official was invited to recently held OIC meeting if they were involved in plotting conspiracy against Pakistan. “You only came to know that a conspiracy was being plotted against you just after no-confidence move was submitted,” she told PM Imran Khan.
Sherry Rehman said that Prime Minister was trying to compare himself with former PM Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto (ZAB), but the latter had given nuclear program to Pakistan as well as an independent foreign policy and unification of Muslim world.
“You could not take a clear stance against terrorism. What was your landmark achievement that assassination plots are being hatched against you?” Sherry asked.
