Federal Ombudsman sends fact finding team to Poly Clinic to ascertain public problems

The Hon’ble Federal Ombudsman Mr. Ejaz Ahmad Qureshi taking notice of numerous complaints by the general public regarding shortage/inadequate provision of medications, inordinate delay in certification of medical reimbursement bills, unhygienic conditions, and undue delay in clinical tests and treatment, sent a team of his Advisors to Islamabad Poly Clinic Hospital to ascertain the hardship/ gravity of the problems being faced by the common man and also to ascertain the constraints of the Hospital Management with a view to identifying the corrective measures for overcoming the problems of the general public.
The Team comprising Senior Advisor Mr. Ahmed Farooq and Mr. Pervez Haleem, Consultant (Implementation) and others visited various departments of the hospital, interviewed the public at various places in the hospital and also called on the Executive Director alongwith senior officers of the Management to discuss the difficulties faced by the public.
The Team will recommend short and long term corrective measures for the purpose of issuance of necessary directives to the concerned quarters by the Wafaqi Mohtasib.
The Implementation Wing of the Wafaqi Mohtasib Secretariat will ensure compliance of the directives in the coming weeks and months so that the public is facilitated quickly and feels the difference and improvement in the medical services being rendered by the Islamabad Polyclinic Hospital.
