The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Thursday arrested a suspect in Faisalabad who threatened to kill Maryam Nawaz. The incident took place during the election campaign of NA 108 where Imran Khan was contesting by-polls against PML-N’s Abid Sher Ali.
The accused threatened to murder Maryam Nawaz in case the government arrests former premier Khan during a corner meeting in the presence of former Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Qasim Suri.
The video of the incident went viral and PML-N leader Talal Chaudhary also held a press conference in this regard in which he claimed that fearing defeat, PTI workers had resorted to violence. However, PTI chairman Khan later won the election with a huge margin on October 15.
