Islamabad High Court (IHC) has remarked FIA has abandoned all its jobs since the last two years and is seeing only social media.
The court remarked only journalists file cases against FIA and no one else files case. Privacy is very important thing. But this is for common people.
The petitions filed by journalists Arshid Sharif and Sami Ibrahim against FIA came up for hearing before the single bench of IHC led by Chief Justice (CJ) Athar Minallah Thursday.
The court inquired what action is being taken against Arshid Sharif.
Upon it FIA told the court in the matter of Arshid Sharif we are in contact with PFUF as per court’s directives. Notice was issued on Sami Ibrahim video. Transcript has also been filed.

Sami Ibrahim said army chief should tell these people have gathered at whose stance.
The court remarked you had told about whom that who were these people that had gathered. Were you talking about members of parliament. The disgrace of parliament cannot be expected from you. A constitutional change took place in parliament. You should not have said so. You should see the history of this country. Martial law remained imposed for 35 years. The constitution was suspended twice. It was called a piece of paper. Army has its own respect and there must be respect of army. They are rendering sacrifices. They are embracing martyrdom. Army will be respected when they work as per constitution. If Sami Ibrahim has said so then how it became crime. Has army lodged any complaint. How section 20 of PEECA was slapped. Our army is valiant army. It will not be intimidated by the statements. Our army is not so weak that there can be any threat of mutiny.
FIA told the court they said that Chief Justice of Pakistan Umar Ata Bandial should tell why the courts were opened at night.
The CJ IHC remarked “ I give reply about opening of courts at night. Safeguarding the constitution is responsibility of judiciary. The court will open whenever there is threat to constitution. Supreme court had issued this order as first order. The judiciary or army cannot be intimidated. FIA should not have any apprehension in this regard. Can the army or judiciary be intimidated due to their wrong statement in your view. This is not job of FIA. There are big jobs for FIA. They should do them. Perhaps the FIA is seeing only social media since the last two years by leaving all other jobs.

FIA told the court they had taken suo motu notice against Sami Ibrahim.
Sami Ibrahim told the court we respect our judiciary and army. Intimidation was not motive. How much was said about this court. Has this court got embarrassed any time. The decisions of this court will bring fore the truth.
The court adjourned the hearing of the case till June 10.
