Notorious Director of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Babar Bakht Qureshi has been removed from his post and transferred to the Establishment Division, it emerged Wednesday.
Babar was ill-famed for making baseless cases as per the PECA act and harassing journalists. He was the one who had arrested and tortured Editor-in-Chief of Online News Agency Mohsin Jameel Baig in a fake and baseless case, filed on directions of former PM Imran Khan.
The Islamabad High Court (IHC) had also taken notice of intemperance of Babar and IHC’s Chief Justice Athar Minallah has recently declared PECA ‘unconstitutional’.
The court had also ordered to dismiss cases against Mohsin Jameel Baig.
