FIFA Chief says Qatar hosted ‘Best World Cup ever’

International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) Chief Gianni Infantino said Friday Qatar has hosted the ‘Best World Cup ever.’
According to media reports, Indantino said proposed three-team group format for 2026 will be ‘revisited’. He said that FIFA Plans for expanded 32-team men’s World Cup from 2025, and new Women’s Club World Cup.
Earlier before the commencement of World Cup, the FIFA chief has openly come out in support of Qatar amidst criticism over alleged violation of Human Rights.
In a press talk, Infantino had said Western countries are not in a position to criticize Qatar’s poor treatment of LGBT+ communities and migrant workers.
“What is sad is that, especially in the last weeks, we have been witnessing, in some places, a real lesson of double moral [standards],” Infantino had said.
“I’m European. I think for what we Europeans have been doing for 3,000 years around the world, we should be apologizing for the next 3,000 years before giving moral lessons to people.”
