KHYBER AGENCY: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Landikotal chapter demanded of the concerned authorities to probe into financial embezzlement made by TESCO chief Zakullah Gandapur.
Talking to local media persons in Landikotal press club,Ameer JI,Landikotal Murad Hussain Afridi and General Secretary Said Hakeem Shinwari said that in 2014 P&D department of Fata Secretariat paid huge sum Rs.130 millions to the TESCO chief for completion of electricity projects in the tribal belt.
But the official instead of utilizing the fund for the interest of the tribesmen,deposited the income in Bank Al-Falah to get promotion for his brother as regional director.
They blamed that the act of the chief was financial mismanagement that needed to be investigated.
They threatened that they would raise voice on every forum against the corruption of the TESCO chief.
JI leaders said 22 hours loadsheeding was being observed in Fata that disturbed the routine life activities and the residents were compelled to shift to down towns.
When the TESCO was contacted on his office phone for his version but the officer was unavailable.
