In order to review various faculties, departments and formation of academic programs, the meeting of the new Senate of Swat University of Engineering and Applied Sciences Swat (SUEAS) took place at Governor House Peshawar.
The provincial minister for higher education and pro-chancellor of the university chaired the first meeting of the university Senate here on Monday.
The meeting was attended by VC of Swat University of Engineering and Applied Sciences Professor Dr Iftikhar Hussain, project director Dr Najibullah, principal secretary to the Governor Mahmud Hasan, secretary higher education Muhammad Daud Khan and other relevant officials of the government departments.
The forum reviewed different proposals submitted to it by the university to start faculties, department and academic programs at the University.
The Senate approved the statutes of the university on the model statutes and also approved the rules and regulations relating to consultancy as part of the statutes.
In the Senate meeting, the budget of the University for the Financial Year 2022-23 was also presented for approval, while the agenda related to recruitments on special pay scale.
The pro-chancellor of the university and minister for higher education Kamran Bangash constituted a committee to oversee legal issues pertaining to recruitment on special pay scale in the newly established university.
The committee will comprise representatives of the Chancellor’s Office, department of higher education, and the department of finance.
Kamran Bangash issued instructions to the committee to prepare its report within 14 days and submit before the forum in the next senate meeting of the university to pave the way for commencing academic programs timely at the university.
Kamran Bangash also congratulated the university administration for showing excellent performance in a short time and expressed his satisfaction on the performance of university member’s preparations.
