First moot of newly elected councilors held in Landi Kotal

First ever introductive meeting of newly elected councilors under the chair of Tehsil Chairman was held here in Jirga hall, subdivision Landi Kotal on Thursday.
Approximately 252 village and urban councils chairmen, councilors, conveners and councilors elected on reserve seats of women, laborers/workers, youths and minorities participated in it.
The participants expressed their dissatisfaction over the lack of funds and reluctance to confer them power and responsibilities to the elected councilors and urged the provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to grant funds so that they can solve problems of health, education, power etc in their respective constituencies.
Speaking on the occasion Tehsil chairman Haji Shah Khalid said that in first ever local bodies election, tribesmen have granted mandate to councilors to resolve their miseries being faced for the last seven decades.
“It is binding on us to honor the public mandate, cemented unity and utilize all our energies for the solution of the masses problems, who trusted us” he remarked.
He assured the attendants that he will exploit every forum to address issues, forwarded by the councilors.
Prior to it, the councilors apprised the City Mayer of the problems of their constituencies, who listened it cautiously and assured the attendants that he will exploit every forum to convoy their miseries to the highup and to address their issues on priority basis.
It is to be stated here that Landi Kotal has 36 councils, comprising 31 village councils while five are urban councils.
