Flood affected families would not be left alone: Faisal Amin

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa minister for local government and rural development Faisal Amin Gandapur has said that the provincial government was taking all possible steps to compensate people for their damaged houses and complete the process of rehabilitation.
He said that the floods have caused widespread destruction across the province and millions of people were deprived of their houses and other resources for their livelihood.
He expressed these views during a meeting with International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies head of Emergencies Chiran Jeeva and Head of International Programs of the Indigenous Red Cross Rotheng Jacob on the occasion of their visit to Dera Ismail Khan.
“Rescue activities were initially carried out for the flood victims so that the damages could be limited to the minimum level, after which all the resources were used for the restoration of the infrastructure including roads and highways,” he added.
He said that the KP government was taking pragmatic steps in all affected districts to mitigate the problems of people suffering due to heavy floods and no one would be left helpless.
Faisal Amin maintained that the provincial health department and humanitarian organization have set up a number of medical camps to provide instant medical relief to flood affected people across the province.
On this occasion, Commissioner Dera Ismail Khan Division Aamir Afaq was also with him while Additional Deputy Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner Dera, Health Department, Pakistan Red Crescent Dera and other officers were also present.
On this occasion, Pakistan Red Crescent Dera gave a detailed briefing on various projects related to the provision of relief goods, mobile medical campus, covid vaccination and support to government institutions in the affected areas.
He further said that initially all resources were utilized for rescue and relief activities as well as infrastructure restoration.
Similarly, all possible measures were taken by the administration and the health department to ensure timely provision of health facilities to the people.
