Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto has said that Pakistan had narrowly avoided default, but the flood again pushed it in that direction. Addressing a press conference on Friday, he said that the country was facing default when they assumed the government.
“We saved the country from default after establishing relations with all countries. So far as the US conspiracy narrative is concerned, Imran Khan himself has taken a U-turn over it,” he added. The minister said that Pakistan needs relations with the United States on the basis of equality. “We want good relations with all neighbouring countries, including India.
Our focus is to advance the interest of Pakistan,” he maintained.
Bilawal Bhutto appealed to the world to help the flood victims. “China helped Pakistan in difficult economic conditions. The work on the CPEC has expedited. Cooperation with the US against terrorism has also increased,” he added.
