The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety Authority, while conducting operations in different parts of the province, sealed several food related units and imposed fines on several others for violating hygiene and hygiene norms.
According to the Food Safety Authority, various ice factories on DI Khan Road in Bannu area were inspected and water quality was checked with the help of modern food testing laboratory.
According to the Food Safety Authority, chicken shops in Mandan Chowk were also inspected on the complaint of a citizen, and fines were imposed for violating hygiene rules.
In Abbottabad, inspections continued to ensure quality of food.
According to the Food Safety Authority, various food- related businesses were inspected in the Galyat area of Abbottabad.
During the inspection, two hotels were sealed for poor hygiene, use of expired items and violation of hygiene norms.
Poor milk, rotten chicken meat and rotten vegetables were recovered and destroyed and heavy fines were imposed on the owners.
Food-related businesses were also inspected in other districts of the province, and awareness was also provided on the principles of hygiene to further improve quality.
