Founder of Pashto Academy Maulana Abdul Qadir remembered

Scholars, poets, teachers and students on Wednesday paid a rich tribute to Maulana Abdul Qadir, the founder of the Pashto Academy, University of Peshawar, at a seminar here.
In order to remember the services and contributions of Maulana Abdul Qader; the founder of Pashto Academy, established in 1955, a seminar was held at Pashto Academy, University of Peshawar.
While presiding over the session, Professor Dr Nasrullah Jan Wazir,Director Pashto Academy, expressed that late Maulana Abdul Qader was a pioneering, and unmatched literary figure who had laid the foundation of this prestigious Pashto Academy that provides researchers not only to the educational institutions in Pakistan but to the neighboring states as well.
He added that the academy has accelerated the pace, and has made visible progress in all spheres of the assigned targets.
Dr Hanif Khalil expressed that Maulana Abdul Qader had expertise in languages, philosophy, and had great administrative skill.
He further added that he had established the academy more than seventy years ago and has now flourished and has been delivering excellent services in carrying out research works.
Dr Sher Zaman Seemab on this occasion maintained that Maulana Abdul Qader’s works are self-explanatory of his academic background, and his selflessness that has produced great sons of the soil who have been enriching the literary treasure of Pashto literature and culture.
Dr Bushra Ikram shared that Maulana Abdul Qader has established this academy which has opened up new horizons of research and disciplines. She suggested that a national level seminar should be held on services and contributions made by late Abdul Qader.
Dr Zafarullah Bakhshali, professor at Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan (AWKUM) said that the torch bearer of selflessness Maulana Abdul Qader has greatly influenced the literary circles, adding that Pashto Academy was among the few institutions which were established on the basis of pure literary works.
The seminar was attended by a number of Ph.D and MPhil scholars from Pashto Academy, Pashto Department, and Islamia College University, Peshawar.
