Karachi : Mian Nasser Hyatt Maggo, President FPCCI Arif Yousuf Jeeva, VP FPCCI, have expressed concern over the demolition of Pavilion Club in Karachi and orders for demolition of Nasla Tower. Such a process would bring all business activities in Karachi to a standstill.
Mian Nasser Hyatt Maggo said that we are strongly against illegal constructions; but, the demolition of buildings after fulfilling all the legal requirements is spreading frustration among the citizens, builders, developers, and traders of Karachi. On the other hand, such a move has made local and foreign investors fearful of investing in the construction sector in Karachi; which is detrimental not only to Karachi but also to the country.
Mian Nasser Hyatt Maggo said that more than 100 other industries are associated with the construction sector. If the construction sector in Karachi suffers, the wheel of other ancillary industries will also stop; which will lead to a storm of unemployment.
