Islamabad: Instead of providing economic relief to people, fruit vegetables, and other edibles’ price reached a new height in Twin-cites Rawalpindi and Islamabad ahead of the Holy month of Ramazan. Among other commodities, prices of fruits, vegetables, sugar, pulses and rice also witnessed an increase. Appeal was being sold of Rs 300 per kg, lemons Rs 400 per kg, bananas Rs 200 per dozen, Water Melon of Rs. 30 per kg.On the other hand despite of government Rs 2 billion subsidy packages, main items included sugar, flour, cooking oil and other daily edibles were disappeared from utility stories. The citizens who visited Ramazan Bazaar stated that there was no significant difference in prices as compared to general market rate. 100pc increase in Irani dates price also disappointed citizens as they were with the view that reduction in prices in Ramazan Bazaars must be ensured to facilitate.
