A three-day Snow and Sports Festival has started under the auspices of District Administration Swat Culture and Tourism Authority in Gabin Jabba, a snow and tourism area of Swat.
The festival was inaugurated by the caretaker Provincial Minister C&W Muhammad Ali Shah along with ADC Sohail Khan, ADC Abdul Laif, AC Matta Abdul Qayyum Khan, RSO Kashif Farhan, District Youth Officer Farhad Ali Khan and other important personalities were present.
The three-day Snow Sports Festival in scenic Gabin Jabba of Swat will continue till February 28. In the festival, snow marathon race, tug-of-war, martial arts, cycling and weightlifting competitions will be organized.
Handicrafts stalls, food and drink stalls and music festivals will also be organized to entertain the tourists and locals in which famous singers will perform. Provincial Minister C&W Muhammad Ali Shah said that restoration of roads from flood-affected tourist areas is one of our top priorities.
In spite of this, the road maintenance work is going on, he added. This type of festival is very important for the tourists in the tourist places, which highlight the image of our province in other provinces and internationally, he said.
In the event, there was a wonderful musical performance in which the local youth performed on Pashto and Urdu songs, sports competitions were attended by local athletes as well as provincial and national level athletes.
Tourists from different parts of the country continue to come to participate in the festival. On the first day, Jamshed Ali Khan performed comedy, while Wasil Khyal, Shaukat Mehmood, Zubair Nawaz and Miroos Khan performed their art.
Imran Khan, Shahzad Khyal and Syed Rehman Shinu will perform on the third day, Shahid Malling group ‘Shahid Ali Khan will perform his magic, besides this, there will also be a performance on Rabab, Sitar and Dholak (dolls) etc. Along with this, the series of sports competitions will also continue in this festival.
