MULTAN: Additional District & Sessions Judge,Nadeem Hussain awarded death sentence to one accused and life imprisonment to another in a gang rape case here on Monday. According to the prosecution,the case, registered under FIR No. 348/21 at City Police Station Shujabad, involved the gang rape of a bride at gunpoint on her wedding night in Mouza Mochipura, where the groom and his brother were tied up by the perpetrators. Four suspects were initially booked– Abid alias Abi, Shaukat Rongha, Hamid Nawaz alias Lala, and Ghulam Yaseen Rongha.Two of them ,Abid and Shaukat, were killed in a police encounter on June 13,2021. After a four-year trial,the court sentenced Ghulam Yaseen to death along with a fine of Rs. 200,000, while Hamid Nawaz was awarded life imprisonment and a fine of Rs. 100,000. DNA
