German delegation meets KP Minister for technical education

A delegation of German development agency GIZ, led by Romina Kochius, called on provincial caretaker minister for industries and technical education Mohammad Adnan Jalil here on Tuesday at civil secretariat Peshawar.
The meeting discussed in detail different training programs for the students enrolled in different technical and vocational institutes under the Technical and Vocational Training Authority (TVTA).
Romina Kochius, coordinator for sustainable economic development, training and employment of German international development agency in Pakistan, said that the German government will expand its cooperation with TVETA for the promotion of technical and vocational training for the students to boost up opportunities for them in holistic job and business markets.
Director General (DG) Industries Barkatullah, TVETA officials, Chief Economist of the Industries Department and other officers were also present in the meeting.
The caretaker minister and officials concerned briefed the delegation about the overall performance of the authority and future plans regarding the promotion of technical education in the province.
Technical training institutions will provide high quality training to enable the availability of skilled manpower according to the requirements of the modern world, Adnan Jalil said and added that the industry department will carry out the responsibilities of registration of industries and all other matters while the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Economic Zones Development and Management Company will make efforts for marketing the promotion of industrialization in the province.
The caretaker minister said on the occasion that support from the German organization in setting up the proposed research center would be appreciated. He said that modernization of the technical education sector was the need of the hour, adding that traditional skills have no role in modern scientific society and having very low acceptance in the skill market.
