Gold rises by Rs600 to Rs237,800 per tola

ISLAMABAD: Toeing the international market, gold prices in the country surged by Rs600 per tola on Wednesday to close at Rs237,800. Similarly, the gold rate for 10 grams of 24-karat reached Rs203,875 from Rs203,365, showing an increase of Rs510, according to the All-Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association’s (APSGJA) data. The gold price for 22-karat was recorded at Rs217,370 against Rs217,450 per tola a session ag0. Likewise, the gold rate for 10 grams of 22-karat rose to Rs186,880 from Rs186,400, with an increase of Rs480. As of 1250 hours GMT, the gold futures in the international market were available at $1,982.50 per ounce, showing an increase of $6.80. Out of the $6.80 per ounce increase, +$0.55 was due to weakening of the US dollar and +$6.25 was due to predominant buyers, according to Kitco Gold Index. TLTP
