Gold, silver prices slip from all-time highs

Local and international gold and silver prices declined from all-time highs on Thursday, reflecting a global downtrend, traders said. Gold prices dipped from historic height by Rs3,700 to Rs482,462 per tola and Rs3,172 to Rs413,633 per 10 grams, according to All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association. World market fell from record levels by USD37 to USD4601 per ounce while silver prices dropped by USD1.50, receding from all-time highs to USD89.50 per ounce, it cited.Domestic silver prices also lost momentum, going down by Rs150 and Rs129, sliding from historic height to Rs9,425 per tola and Rs8,080 per 10 grams, respectively, according to the association.
It is worth noting that the open market may trade gold and silver at different prices as compared to those officially established by the association.
