Goldoor Chitral XI stun DFA Peshawar to win Shuhada-e-Chitral Premier Football League

Having support of thousands of local supporters, the spirited Goldoor Chitral XI stunned strong DFA Peshawar by solitary goal in the final of the Shuhada-e-Chitral Premier Football League played at Chitral Scout Ground here on Wednesday.
There was a vociferous crowd supporting the local players consisting of five national junior U16 team players from Chitral. Goldoor Chitral XI recorded a thumping victory against strong DFA Peshawar, having the services of three international players by 1-0.
Inspector General Frontier Corps Major General Noor Wali Khan who specially flew from Peshawar through helicopter to see the thrill-packed final of the Shuhada-e-Chitral Premier Football League organized by Chitral Scout with the collaboration of District Administration Chitral and District Football Association Chitral to pay rich tribute to the martyrs of September 6, 2023 in Chitral.
The final match started with fast tempo and both Goldoor Chitral XI and DFA Peshawar raided each other’s defence with some fine moves. The first session was remained a goal-less draw despite many goal-fetching attacks from both side but it was the second session in which Goldoor Chitral XI put in pressure and succeeded in taking a goal lead through right winger Saqib on the field attempt through left winger Sajid Ahmad cross in front of the DFA Peshawar goal-post.
The lead gave a new vigor in the rank of Goldoor Chitral XI, a team formed by Chitral Scout by inducting players from nearby villages. Goldoor Chitral XI kept up pressure to double the lead but failed to score any more goals.
On the other hand DFA Peshawar, having services of international players Alamgir, Kamran and Irfan, played well and despite having chances of goals failed to utilize their attempts. DFA Peshawar missed more than three easy goal scoring chances. Thus Goldoor Chitral XI won the final match by 1-0. At the end, the chief guest IG FC Major General Noor Wali Khan gave away trophies and cash prizes. The winner Goldoor Chitral XI awarded the winner’s trophy and Rs. 150,000 as cash prize while DFA Peshawar took the runners-up and Rs. 100,000 as cash prizes.
Speaking on this occasion, Major General Noor Wali Khan appreciated the organizing committee headed by Commandant Chitral Scout Col. Javed Bilal, Hussain Ali, Secretary General District Football Association and all the participating 20 teams from Dera Ismail Khan to Chitral.
He termed healthy sports activities very vital for the youth of Chitral. Major General Noor Wali Khan said that a team of Chitral Scouts would be restored in order to give ample opportunities to the youth of Chitral to be part of it. The team would be fully supported, he said. He also announced 10 sports scholarships for the talented football players.
He said a football ground would be developed for which he announced Rs. 1 million. He said talks would also be made with the Director General Sports Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to expedite pace of work on the under construction grounds in different areas of District Chitral.
He assured that steps would be taken to facilitate the youth of Chitral in healthy sports activities besides support would be ensured to those players going for different Games outside District Chitral. He said after the restoration of the Chitral Scout team, more good players would be inducted as players in order to provide them employment opportunities.
