Students Showcase Passionate Speeches, Stage Performances, and Kashmiri Cultural Displays in an Inspiring Ceremony

Like the rest of the country, Youm-e-Yakjehti Kashmir (Kashmir Solidarity Day) was observed with great enthusiasm at Government City Girls College, Gulbahar, Peshawar. The event was marked by impassioned speeches, thought-provoking skits, and vibrant cultural representations highlighting the resilience and sacrifices of Kashmiri people.
Students delivered compelling speeches shedding light on the brutal oppression faced by Kashmiri Muslims and dramatized scenes depicting the relentless struggle of Kashmiris against Indian occupation forces.
Adding to the event’s significance, students dressed in traditional Kashmiri attire, visually representing their solidarity with the oppressed people of Kashmir.
As part of the event, two major competitions were held. The first was an essay writing contest, where eleven students participated.
Their essays focused on the sacrifices of the Kashmiri people, the apathy of the international community, and the ongoing human rights violations in the occupied region. The winners of this competition will be announced at a grand ceremony.
The second competition was a Kashmir-related quiz, in which students from BS English and BS Political Science departments participated.
The Political Science department emerged victorious in a closely contested battle of knowledge. The purpose of this competition was to enhance students’ awareness of the Kashmir issue and its historical significance.
The event’s chief guest was Shandana Gulzar, a senior leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and a Member of the National Assembly (MNA). She distributed cash prizes and certificates among the outstanding performers.
Addressing the gathering, Shandana Gulzar emphasized that freedom is the greatest blessing for any nation, yet the oppressed people of Kashmir continue to endure the worst atrocities at the hands of Indian forces.
She lamented the silence of the international community, calling it a stark example of global hypocrisy.
She paid tribute to the unwavering courage and sacrifices of Kashmiri women, stating that they have endured the worst oppression, yet their resolve remains unshaken.
“Kashmiri mothers, sisters, and daughters sacrifice their dignity and lives but never compromise on their struggle for freedom. They raise their children with the dream of an independent Kashmir,” she remarked.
Shandana Gulzar further asserted that every Pakistani stands shoulder to shoulder with the Kashmiri people, and the day is not far when Kashmir will be free from Indian occupation.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal Dr. Rabia Sikandar urged students to remain vocal about the plight of Kashmiris and never let their sacrifices fade into oblivion.
“This event is not just a formality. It is a solemn commitment that we, as Pakistanis, will always stand with our Kashmiri brothers and sisters in their struggle for independence,” she declared.
She also praised the extraordinary resilience of Kashmiri women, acknowledging their unwavering courage in sending their sons to fight for freedom, preparing their burial shrouds, and turning their grief into strength.
Students delivered passionate speeches in both Urdu and English, exposing India’s human rights violations in Kashmir and the indifferent stance of global powers.
Special theatrical performances were staged, vividly portraying the daily horrors endured by the Kashmiri people.
In a remarkable cultural display, students wore traditional Kashmiri attire, symbolizing their deep solidarity with the Kashmiri people. Their performances offered a glimpse into the rich cultural heritage of Kashmir, reinforcing the emotional connection between Pakistan and its oppressed brethren in the valley.
Speakers at the event underscored that this remarkable gathering was not just a tribute but a powerful message of unwavering support for the Kashmiri cause.
Through their speeches, performances, and heartfelt expressions, students conveyed that every Pakistani stands with Kashmir and that the dawn of freedom will soon break over the valleys of Srinagar.
The event concluded with a special prayer for Kashmir’s freedom, followed by students raising resounding slogans of “Kashmir Banega Pakistan” (Kashmir Will Become Pakistan).
