Governor-KP lauds federal insurance ombudsman services

Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Shah Farman has said that the federal insurance ombudsman was providing important services to people for resolving their grievances pertaining to insurance policies.
He stressed upon the department to work on an awareness program for yielding better performance.
Governor-KP said that while taking insurance policy most of the people did not get adequate information about the policy, adding that insurance policy holders face a number of issues such as obtaining their money back due to incomplete information.
Shah Farman expressed these views during a function titled “Importance of Insurance and Provision of Immediate Free Justice” organized by the Federal Insurance Ombudsman at Governor House Peshawar on Thursday.
Federal Minister of State Ali Muhammad Khan was also present on the occasion.
In his address, Governor Shah Farman highlighted the importance of the federal insurance Ombudsman and said that the institution was rendering important services to the people in obtaining insurance claims.
The public should approach the federal insurance Ombudsman for resolution of problems and difficulties in obtaining their claims from insurance companies.
The Governor on the occasion appreciated the steps taken by the federal insurance Ombudsman for resolving the issues between the insurance policy holders and the insurance companies by mutual consent.
Ali Muhammad Khan also addressed the function and said that these insurance policies should be from Islamic point of view.
He said that the policy of the federal insurance Ombudsman to resolve the issues of insurance claims by mutual consent was the best step.
Earlier in the ceremony, Director General federal insurance Ombudsman Dr Khawar Jameel briefed the participants about the importance, objectives and overall performance of the organization.
