Governor Kundi visits residence of Squash Legend Jan Sher Khan

Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi on Sunday paid a visit to the residence of former world squash champion Jan Sher Khan to discuss the promotion of sports in the province.
The meeting was attended by former British Squash Champion Atlas Khan, former world number ten player Amjad Khan, assistant coach, and squash coach Muhammad Wasim, Director General Sports.
Highlighting the invaluable contributions of Jan Sher Khan and his family in promoting Pakistan’s name worldwide, Governor Faisal Karim Kundi emphasized the importance of fostering sporting activities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
“Our province’s youth are actively participating in sports, thanks to our heroes who continue to shine the name of our country,” said Governor Faisal Karim Kundi.
He said that efforts are underway at Governor’s House to enhance sports activities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, aiming to nurture talent and provide ample opportunities for youth engagement in sports.
He said that discussions also encompassed initiatives for the promotion of various sports, including squash, in the province.
Jan Sher Khan praised Governor Kundi’s initiatives for sports development.
He said that there is no shortage of talent in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
He further stressed the need for governmental measures to oversee the development and support of squash players at the provincial level.
The visit concluded with a mutual agreement to continue efforts towards bolstering sports activities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, reaffirming the commitment to nurture a vibrant sports culture in the region.
