PESHAWAR, November28: Chairman, Amun Taraqqi Party Muhammad Faiq Shah has said the government has continued to overburdening the nation by availing loans from foreign monetary institution and lenders, pushing the people life in distress instead of bringing any improvement.
Chairing a meeting of the party’s executive council here on Saturday, Faiq Shah asked the details of loans obtained from global financial lenders must be made public immediately. He asserted that instead of bringing the country under constant debts, stressing that measures need to be taken to improve the life of the common man.
The ATP Deputy Secretary General, Sohail Malik, Secretary Information Awais Khan, Ishtiaq Elahi, Khurram Shahzad, Arsalan Shah and others were in attendance during the meeting of the party’s executive council
Faiq Shah emphasized to avoid from overburdening the nation with further debts. He demanded that steps should be taken to bring improvement in the life of general masses. He questioned: “Was any planning to improve the country’s economy from loans?
He witnessed that the incumbent government forgot the commission formed to initiate a probe into foreign loans, the national institutions and elected representatives should ask about it.
The ATP chairman said they will hold accountable the government for its manifesto, promises and claims, asking the present rulers to honor their pledges to bring change in life of people, if not do so, they will be answerable to the masses.
Previously, he said the country had overburdened with foreign loans, now presently the same strategy is being adopted by the incumbent government. He observed the trade deficit has been escalating, stressing the need of the national institutions and public representatives’ role in the prevailing circumstances.
