Govt doing best for protection of minorities’ rights, says President Arif Alvi


The President Dr Arif Alvi has said that the government is doing its best for the protection of minorities’ rights.
Unlike India, minorities in Pakistan enjoy more rights and representation, said the President while talking to a delegation of minorities led by Nand Lal Malhi MNA at Governor’s House, Karachi Saturday.
Dr. Alvi said that Sindh had been manifesting religious harmony and tolerance throughout the history. Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah always spoke for the equal rights of all citizens in Pakistan irrespective of their creed and religion, he said.
The government is taking host of initiatives to promote religious tourism likewise it is necessary to promote it in Tharparkar, Umerkot and Thatta where Bhudha and Hindu historic and religious sites are situated, the President told the delegation. He also admired the role played by the minorities in the development of Pakistan.
