Govt revises downward profit rates on several NSS

KARACHI: Government has curtailed profit rate on National Savings Schemes (NSS). It has been said in the notification related to NSS the profit on Behbud Savings and Pensioners Benefit accounts has been lowered to 12.96 percent per annum. Monthly profit on Regular Income Certificate has been reduced to 11.52 percent per month. The Regular Income Certificate (RIC) has also seen a reduction in its monthly profit rate. Under the revised structure, the annual rate has been fixed at 11.52%. As a result, an investment of Rs100,000 in the scheme will now generate a monthly profit of Rs960. Profit per month for first six months on special savings certificate will be given 11.2 percent and for the last six months profit per month will be increased to 12.6 percent. ONLINE
