LAHORE
JI Amir Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman has said government should abolish levy on petroleum products instead of fleecing the public daily.
JI Amir Hafiz Naeem while strongly criticizing government decision for raising the prices of petroleum products has said government should abolish levy on petroleum products instead of robbing the people blind.
While reacting on social media website X he said increasing the prices of petroleum products on daily basis means government has decided to loot the public daily.
He raised the question why the allied government does not abolish tax of Rs 120 per liter imposed on petrol instead of increasing the prices of petroleum products persistently.
These taxes have no relevance with the original price of petrol.
He said as to why government does not stop grabbing extortion money from the people in the name of levy.
He held government is shifting burden of its failures on economic front to public
in the form of unbridled inflation and new taxes.
Government should abolish unnecessary taxes and levy on petroleum products instead of shifting more financial burden to people, he added.
