Govt stable, opposition to face humiliation: Sarwar

Federal Minister for Aviation Ghulam Sarwar Khan claimed Saturday that the government and its allies were on the same page, adding that current opposition cannot harm the government coalition.
Addressing a weekly press conference in Islamabad, the minister said that ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) would win local body elections, supposed to be held later this year. “We have to win the elections” he said.
Talking about possibility of a ‘no-confidence’ motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan, Ghulam Sarwar Khan said that despite opposition’s majority in the Senate, the no-confidence motion against then Chairman Senate was defeated. “Once again, the government will win and opposition will face humiliation [If no-confidence motion will be tabled against the PM]” he clarified.
He said that it was being portrayed through the media as if a political storm was coming. “The government and its allies are on the same page. Media should not pay attention to the slogans of opposition” he said.
“Due to opposition’s negative propaganda, ISPR had to clarify no ‘deal’ was done [in the political matrix]. United Kingdom has also refused to grant asylum to Nawaz Sharif. Nawaz Sharif has been convicted and there will be no deal with him” Ghulam Sarwar Khan said.
He said former premier Nawaz Sharif would be sent to ajail in case if he returns. “We will go to court for his return because he had left the country for four weeks through fake medical report”
He said that his party needed to pay great care in upcoming elections for candidates’ selection and distribution of tickets.
“PTI ticket is a matter of honor for us. Allah and the people have a hand on our head. Army and government are on one page” he maintained.
