Govt to contest Qandeel Baloch murder case: Farogh Naseem

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Law and Justice Farogh Naseem has said that the federal government will be pursing the Qandeel Baloch murder case. Earlier this month, Lahore High Court’s Multan bench acquitted Waseem, convicted in the case. The social media starlet was murdered by her brothers in 2016 for “honour”. On Friday, Naseem said consultations on the case have been completed by the law ministry and Punjab prosecutor-general. “We will now file an appeal against the verdict will be filed in the Supreme Court.” We will use the judgments passed in the Lahore Motorway rape case and Zainab rape case as references, he revealed.
