Govt to hold donors conference: minister

The government will organize a donors’ conference soon after completion of the flood damage estimate survey, Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal said. The minister was winding up debate in the National Assembly on flood relief activities in the country.Ahsan Iqbal said development partners will complete the flood damage estimate survey by Monday. He said the international community generously supported relief and rescue operations and now the government is seeking further support in reconstruction and rehabilitation of the flood affected people.
Ahsan Iqbal said a comprehensive plan will be formulated to make Pakistan environment resilient to avert any future risks of climate change. He appealed to the nation, including overseas Pakistanis, to generously donate blankets and quilts for the flood affected homeless people before the onset of winter season. =DNA
