Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin has underlined that housing is the government’s priority sector and it is determined to provide houses to the low and middle income groups at affordable prices.
The finance minister said this while presiding over a meeting of the Naya Pakistan Housing and Development Authority on Monday.
The minister directed the relevant authorities to address and resolve the operational ambiguities on priority basis. Chairman NAPHDA, Lt Gen (retd) Anwar Ali Hyder, HI(M), briefed the minister on the progress and achievements of the authority.
He also discussed the operational and functional constraints impeding the smooth implementation of the government’s agenda, especially government and private salaried class. He thanked the federal minister for providing support and addressing their issues.
The State Bank of Pakistan governor and other senior officers attended the meeting.
