PESHAWAR
The officials of the Capital Metropolitan Government under the headship of Deputy Director of Directorate of West Zone, Zilhajja Ilyas on Wednesday carried out a grand operation against encroachments in Saeed Abad and Dillazak Road and removed scored of encroached structures.
The metropolitan office said that during the operation, the BCA and demolishing staff demolished more than 30 illegally constructed shops and issued notices to various other shopkeepers. Scores of ramps and extended portions of the shops were also removed.
On the occasion Deputy Director, Zilhajja Ilyas said prior to the operation all the field work was completed by the staff and the shopkeepers were issued notices.
He said the shopkeepers were directed to remove illegal extensions and their goods from the front of their shops.
He said the shopkeepers were also directed to keep the footpaths in front of their shops clear for the pedestrians however some of the shopkeepers failed to comply with the orders leading to an effective anti-encroachment operation in these areas.
