Haq Dad Khan wins “Karaka” trophy as two-day Traditional Games ends in Lakki Marwat

Surprisingly 80-year-old Haq Dad Khan, the only player left in the Traditional Game Karaka in Lakki Marwat District first inaugurated the Karaka Games part of the ongoing Traditional Games and later on adjudged as the winner too among handful of participation with mostly them are the elders of the areas.
There were great enthusiasm witnessed among all 15 to two participation in the Traditional Karaka Game part of the ongoing Traditional Games being organized by Directorate General Sports Khyber Pakhtunkhwa through a three member committee headed by Jamshed Baloch, Chief Coach Shafqat Ullah and Irshad Khan.
There were different teams participating in the two-day event. The event was largely witnessed by spectators from the local villages. Samar Kakakhel and Karaka Club reached the final before playing against Umar Jan club and Awal Khan club in the semi-finals.
73-year-old Sami Ullah recorded victory in the musical chair while Mohammad Sohail got the musical chair title in players below 10-year-old. Chief Coach Directorate of Sports KP Shafqatullah Khan along with Deputy Director Sports Jamshed Baloch, Sports Officer Lakki Marwat Ismail Khan Wazir, Admin Officer Arshad Khan gave away trophies and cash prizes. The winning team was awarded Rs. 30,000 cash prize while the runners-up team was given Rs. 10,000 and a trophy.

In the final Samar Kakakhel Club and Awal Khan club played against each other and Samar Kakakhel club won the final on better points. Besides the demonstration of the “Karaka” Games to make it more fun, events of musical chairs, tug of war were also organized.
