Health sector must be equipped to face new challenges: Governor

Shah Farman launches Allied Health Sciences Institutes of KMU in 7 districts, Islamabad

Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Shah Farman on Thursday said that all health institutions and hospitals of the province need to be equipped with modern facilities to cope with new challenges.
He expressed these views during a function organized by the Khyber Medical University (KMU) at Governor House Peshawar.
On the occasion, Governor Shah Farman also inaugurated the launch of Allied Health Sciences Institutes of KMU in seven districts of the province and in the federal capital Islamabad.
Allied Health Sciences Institutes of KMU have started in Kadira Ismail Khan, Lakki Marwat, Kohat, Karam, Mardan, Swabi, Deir ez-Zor and Swat.
Addressing the function, Governor Shah Farman appreciated the initiative of KMU to set up the Allied Health Sciences Institute in remote districts of the province.
He said that the services and role of KMU in the health sector need no praise, adding that the provisions of health facilities in remote areas of the province under the auspices of KMU was not only aimed at providing opportunities to the youth but was also based on justice with the people there.
Member Provincial Assembly Sameera Shams, Secretary Higher Education Dawood Khan, Vice Chancellor KM Dr Zia-ul-Haq, Vice Chancellor University of Peshawar Prof Dr Muhammad Idrees, Vice Chancellor Agricultural University Peshawar Prof Dr Bakht Jahan and others attended the function.
