Hike in prices of POL challenged in LHC

Hike in prices of petroleum products has been challenged.
A petition against enhancement in the prices of petroleum products has been filed in Lahore High Court (LHC).
The caretaker federal government and others have been made respondents in the petition.
The petitioner has taken plea in the petition that the price of petroleum products has been increased by Rs 26 per liter. This hike in prices will ignite new storm of inflation.
The petitioner pointed out that during one month of care taker government the price of petrol rose by Rs 58 per liter while diesel price surged by Rs 55 per liter.

The petitioner has requested the court to nullify the recent increase in the price of petroleum products.
Exorbitant increase has been made in the prices of petroleum products. The price of petrol has been raised by Rs 26 per liter and price of diesel by Rs 17 per liter.

The announced prices will remain in place till September 30.
