Netherlands has decided to give Ukraine 18 US-made modern warplanes F-16 in the ongoing Ukrainian war with Russia.
According to Arab media, the Dutch government has announced this on Friday in support of Ukraine against Russia.
On the social media platform X, Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte has said that the information has been given to the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, that the initial delivery of 18 F-16 aircraft is being made.
According to the statement, this delivery of F-16 aircraft is part of the most important arms deal regarding military assistance to Ukraine.
In this regard, the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs is waiting for an export permit, the Dutch Prime Minister has not given an immediate timeline in this regard.
On the other hand, President Zelensky said in his statement on social media platform X that I have spoken to Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte and thanked him because he has started preparing for the delivery of 18 F-16 aircraft.
It should be noted that the Netherlands has sent an F-16 aircraft last month so that Ukrainian pilots can complete training on it. This aircraft has been sent to Romania, where Ukrainian pilots and other personnel are present for training.
