MITHI: The Human Rights Department, Government of Sindh, organized a seminar and awareness rally on Tuesday in Mithi to mark International Human Rights Day. The event brought together government officials, civil society members, academicians, and youth from across Tharparkar. Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Sindh Rajvir Singh Sodha, Special Assistant Veerji Kolhi, Secretary Human Rights Department Khalid A.K. Chachar, Deputy Commissioner Abdul Haleem Jagirani, SSP Tharparkar Muhammad Shoaib Memon, Abbas Khoso, and Partab Shivani addressed the seminar, stressing the importance of promoting and protecting human rights. The seminar featured student speeches, a tableau on child rights, and a documentary highlighting youth-led initiatives under the department’s internship program. A panel discussion focused on education, social welfare, gender rights, disaster vulnerability, and local governance, moderated by Nazia Naz. Shields were presented to panelists and distinguished guests. An awareness rally from NBP to Kashmir Chowk, led by Rajvir Singh Sodha, Khalid A.K. Chachar, Abbas Khoso, and other officials, engaged the local community in human rights awareness.
