“I am paying special attention to squash with my education,” says Zarlesh Safdar


Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s talented female squash player Zarlash Safdar has said that she is paying special attention to squash along with her education.
Talking to APP, Zarlash Safdar said that looking after the contribution of our countrymen and women towards squash actually dragged her to go and selected squash as Game and would try her best to make the name of Pakistan more famous in the world of squash.
She said that Bank of Khyber has given a lot of support in fulfilling these dreams and recently the BoK have awarded her and her younger sister complete squash kits with full uniform, rackets, balls etc. Zarlesh said that squash is the most popular sport in the world and Pakistan has ruled over this sport for many decades but unfortunately this crown of rule has been taken away from us.
She said that every effort will be made to win the title of World Champion as a woman player for which she is working very hard. She said that the Pakistan Squash Federation and Provincial Association are taking all possible steps for the promotion of squash in the province.
“I won eight out of 10 matches and achieved third position among the top girls of age playing squash. She is happy the way Bank of Khyber encouraged her by providing squash kits consisting of ball, racket and other equipment.
Tariq Hassan, Marketing Head, Bank of Khyber said that the bank has been playing a key role earlier on in promoting various sports including squash and this time extended support to the women players of squash in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
He said Directorate General Sports Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Bank of Khyber jointly organized the U13 Talent Hunt Squash Program, in which the top players were selected. Scholarships and other benefits are being provided, he said, adding that 142 players from across the province participated in the Talent Hunt program and Zarlash took overall third position in the trials held for talent hunt.
