Awami National Party central vice president, Amir Haider Hoti on Tuesday said that he doesn’t agree with Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman’s demand to postpone the elections for some time.
The elections are already delayed, further delay will increase the problems of the country. He expressed these views while addressing a public meeting at the residence of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) local leader and ex union council nazim Iqtidar Khan.
ANP candidate for NA-23 Mardan -3 and PK-57 Ahmed Khan Bahadur and others also addressed the public meeting. At this occasion PTI local leader Iqtidar Khan along with his family and friends announced to quit PTI and join ANP. Large numbers of party workers attended the public meeting.
Haider Hoti who is contesting election on NA-22 Mardan- 1 and PK-58 said that one day ago he informed through media that firing were conducting on Maulana however later on he was informed that firing were conducting on Maulana vehicle directly or indirectly. He added that later on talking to the media Maulana demanded that the election should be postponed.
He added that Maulana is respectable to us and Maulana’s opinion is also respectable, but the elections which are going to be held on February 8 are already delayed. He argued that this election was supposed to be held earlier, but it was not held. Later, after the Supreme Court played its role, February 8 was fixed as the date.
He added that the people of Pakistan have the right to elect their representatives and form the government in the four provinces and federation of Pakistan through people vote. He argued that further delay in the election will not reduce Pakistan’s problems but will increase them.
He added that there is no political stability in the country at this time and the country needs political stability and political stability will come in the country when there are clean and transparent elections in the country.
He argued that there should be no more delay in the elections, it is better for the country, it is also necessary for democracy and it is also necessary for political stability and political stability is necessary for the economic stability of the country.
